F-F Highlights: Shippensburg goes 4-1 at Gettysburg Duals

Shippensburg's wrestling team had a successful visit to Gettysburg on Saturday, going 4-1 at the Gettysburg Duals tournament.

The Greyhounds (8-2) picked up victories over Camp Hill (58-18), Carlisle (41-29), New Oxford (32-30) and Gettysburg (36-31), while absorbing a 39-30 loss to Bermudian Springs.

Ship had four wrestlers pile up a 5-0 record - Chandler Olson (132), Levi Shoemaker (170), Cole Forrester (195) and Cameron Tinner (285).

Olson scored in pin in all five of his bouts, with the fastest coming in 15 seconds. Tinner had four pins, Forrester three pins and a major decision and Shoemaker had a technical fall and two majors. Dylan Ramsey (120) compiled a 4-1 record.

Rock finalist

Drew Peck of Chambersburg won his semifinal bout at the Escape the Rock Tournament and that set him up to take on the country's No. 1-ranked wrestler at 182 pounds, Michael Beard of Malvern Prep, in the final Sunday afternoon.

Dom Maniero of Queen of Peace, N.J. was Peck's semifinal opponent and Peck earned a 3-1 victory.

Beard, for the second time season, handed Peck a technical fall defeat. At the Beast of the East in December, Beard won 15-0. Sunday at the Rock, the score was 16-1.

Only one other area wrestler will come home with a medal. The Trojans' Aaron Rump finished with a 5-2 record to take seventh place at 138 pounds. Rump won his first consolation bout on Sunday, lost 3-1, then won by forfeit in the match for seventh.

Chambersburg's Seth Runshaw (120), Drake Brenize (152) and Luke Nichter (16), and Mercersburg Academy's Aurelius Dunbar of Greencastle all lost their first consy bouts Sunday to fall one win shy of a place.

The Trojans finished 19th in the team standings among a field of 49 teams.
