Shippensburg 69, James Buchanan 8 >> Shippensburg scattered four pins among a batch of forfeits and rolled up a 69-8 Mid Penn Colonial Division victory over James Buchanan on Monday night.
The Greyhounds (2-1, 2-1 MPC) got falls from Eddie Ocker at 145 pounds, Sterling Shetter at 152, unbeaten Cameron Tinner at 220 and Nick Kubala at 285.
Ship's only win by decision - it had seven forfeit wins - came at 195 when Cole Forrester edged Seth Carbaugh, 2-1, to turn around a 3-1 loss to Carbaugh in the Trojan Wars tournament. Forrester's second-period reversal held up opposite an escape in the third period by Carbaugh.
JB coach Matt Gordon said, "We were going in with three rookies, but I expected the other guys to do better than they did."
The Rockets (0-8, 0-3 MPC) got a technical fall at 138 from Kyle Lee, and a 4-0 decision at 106 by Derek Pine.
On Saturday, JB went 0-5 in the Bloody Run Duals at Everett. Canden Krenzer was 5-0 with three pins at 285.
"In the matches we actually wrestled (not forfeits), we had a 19-14 record," Gordon said. "We got beat, but it wasn't quite as bad as the scores look."
