DIVING: Nick Cover places 2nd at Mid Penns

COLONIAL PARK - Franklin County competitors put together a fine effort Wednesday at the Mid Penn Conference Class AAA diving championships at Central Dauphin.

The area sent four to the championships, and all four of them advanced to the District 3 Championships on Feb. 27 at Wilson. In addition to that success, a pair of Shippensburg school records also fell Wednesday.

Chambersburg's Nick Cover was the top finisher in the area, placing second on the boys side with a total of 471.85 points. He was a mere 2.45 points behind Hershey's Jake Hedrick.

For the Greyhounds, Jared Keim took sixth with an 11-dive school record total of 320.80, and on the girls side, MacKenzie Durf also took down a school record and placed seventh with a score of 322.05.

The final district qualifier was Shippensburg's Alic Sites, who captured ninth with 210.50 points.
