F-F Highlights: SF softball earns 1st win

After falling hard to Hancock in their first meeting of the season, Southern Fulton came back with a vengeance to claim a 5-2 win over the non-league opponent for the team's first win of the season.

Kierstyn Morton and Erica Hoffman each had two RBIs for the Indians, while Maddie Baker knocked in one run. Cheyenne Miller earned the win for SF (1-10).

Baseball

  • Zane Bray was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs in James Buchanan's 5-2 non-league victory over West Perry.

Softball

  • James Buchanan's Jenna Mongold threw a three-hitter in the opening game of the Central York tournament, but the Rockets suffered a 1-0 defeat to the host school. Mongold struck out eight batters. In Game 2 against Susquenita, Paige Doyle and Carly Caron had two hits and an RBI in a 5-3 victory. Lizzie Pittman struck out two in the win, while Mongold came in for the save and also fanned two batters. 
  • Greencastle's Alicen Hoover was 4-for-4 from the plate with 7 RBIs in a dominant semifinal win over Big Spring at the Big Spring Softball Invitational. Olivia Remenick earned the win through four innings, fanning two batters and allowing just three hits.
