P.O. Honor Roll: Track & field athletes shine


DREW ALLDREDGE, Waynesboro softball: Alldredge had the power at the plate in a Mid Penn Colonial Division win over Boiling Springs, going 3-for-4 in the 12-2 win.

TRAYTON BARNETTE, Chambersburg track & field: A spill on the final hurdle of the 300H race against Carlisle was not enough to keep Barnette from the win. He also won the 110 hurdles against the Herd in a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division loss.

JENAY FAULKNER, Greencastle-Antrim track & field: Faulkner claimed the girls shot put at the Jack Roddick Invite with a throw of 40-6.5, and placed sixth in the javelin (108-4). She also placed in the top-10 in the girls shot put at the Penn Relays heaving the shot 40-6.75.

BRICE FEAGLEY, McConnellsburg baseball: Feagley hit a walk-off single to score the game-winning run against Tussey Mountain and earned he win in a 4-3 victory to end a three-game losing streak.

McKENZIE GELVIN, McConnellsburg track & field: Gelvin won the girls 800 and 400 races at the Jack Roddick Invite, and also won four events in a quad meet Monday, claiming the 100 and 300 hurdles, the long jump and competed in the 3200 for the first time - and won.

CHANCE HAWBAKER, McConnellsburg track & field: Hawbaker was a four-time winner during a quad meet Monday, winning the 100, 200 and high jump and aided the winning 4x400 relay. Hawbaker was also a member of the winning 4x400 relay at the Jack Roddick Invite.

KASSIE HOLTRY, Fannett-Metal softball: Holtry batted in the game-winning run in a nine-inning upset over Everett with a slow-rolling ground ball to second to score Morgan Ritchey.

LEAH HUNT, Chambersburg softball: Despite Chambersburg's loss to Central Dauphin, the Lady Trojans' top reliever excelled, striking out eight batters in three innings of work.

BRADY KUHN, Shippensburg baseball: Kuhn pitched a five-inning shutout against Fairfield in a non-league victory to kick off a three-game winning streak. He struck out six batters in his outing and allowed five hits.

BRANDEN LYNCH, Southern Fulton baseball: Lynch threw a three-hitter through 6 2/3 innings as the Indians claimed a 1-0 victory over Southern Huntingdon.

EVAN MAUN, Greencastle-Antrim baseball: Despite falling in their first loss of the season, Greencastle's Evan Maun hit the team's first dinger with a two-run home run during a 4-3 loss to Hershey.

TARYN PARKS, Greencastle-Antrim track & field: Parks broke yet another school record, posting an area's best time of 4:56.71 in the 1600 at the Jack Roddick Invite and also won the 800 in 2:16.70. At Penn Relays, Parks placed seventh in the 1600 with a time of 4:58.33.

CHASE VARNER, Southern Fulton track & field: Varner was a four-time winner in a tri-meet with Tussey Mountain and Chestnut Ridge, claiming the 800, 400 and was on two winning relay teams.

PRESTON WITTE, Waynesboro baseball: Witte led the charge for the Indians in a dominant win over Boiling Springs with three RBIs off two hits.

ABBY YOURKAVITCH, Chambersburg track & field: Yourkavitch won the 3200 in 10:51.62 at the Jack Roddick Invite, pacing the field by more than 23 seconds. She also placed third in the 1600 in 5:06.78.
