F-F Highlights: JB tennis earns shutout

James Buchanan's boys tennis team got itself back in the win column with a non-league shutout over Tussey Mountain.

The Rockets (3-2) have had a seesaw season, not winning or losing more than one in a row. In Monday's match, JB dominated, dropping a total of just eight games.

At No. 3 singles, Josh Summers was the most impressive, picking up a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Travis Lemin. Thatcher Stevens and Paul Dzieciol also lost only one game at No. 2 doubles.

Quotable

  • "They are as well-rounded and well-coached as any team we will face this season. Sophie Bland and Sofia Robinson did a solid job on D despite being under fire for all 80 minutes," Cumberland Valley Christian coach Paul Lundy said after a 4-0 loss to Shenandoah Valley Christian. The Blazers are now 1-1 (1-1 MDCC).
