The Shippensburg girls swim team completed its historic year Thursday with a 105-64 win over Mechanicsburg to nail down a perfect 11-0 dual meet season.

The Lady Hounds claimed eight first-place finishes thanks to top performances my Makenna Morris and Madison Osanitsch, who each won two individual events. Morris claimed the 200 IM (2:19.87) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.33), while Osanitsch won the 200 freestyle (2:06.15) and the 100 back (1:06.64). Rachel Morehouse (100 free, 1:01.55) and Madelyn Facchinei (100 breaststroke, 1:15.01) also won individual races.

On the boys side, Alby Lear won the boys 200 free in 2:01.62, while Caleb Eveland broke 5:30 in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 5:29.62 for a first-place finish. Shippensburg's boys fell to Mechanicsburg 92-77.

QUOTABLE: Chambersburg swim coach Donnie Miller after a pair of losses to Boiling Springs: "Our teams really came together and competed more like a team. The team-first approach was evident in the cheering, support and positive comments around the pool. The daily competition and striving to reach training goals, together, has built trust and respect. It may have taken all season for us to finally blend together as one, but for the seniors, its an experience they'll never forget; and for the returning athletes, it is something to continue to build on in the years to come."

Despite falling to Boiling Springs 89-81, the Chambersburg girls team won all eight individual races and one relay race. The boys, who fell 90-80 to the Bubblers, won six of eight individual races and two relays.
