Review all the Public Opinion All-Stars


All-Star week has come to a close for GameTimePA.com Franklin-Fulton, but there's still a chance to review all of the teams.

Peruse the complete all-star lists below for field hockey, girls volleyball, girls soccer, boys soccer and football, as well as respective coach and players of the year for each sport. Find out if your favorite player made the cut.

Coach of the Year: Becca Rice, Greencastle-Antrim

Rice has turned the Blue Devils from a two-win squad to a playoff contender in just three short years. This season, she led the team to its first District 3 tournament appearance since 2011.

Player of the Year: Rachel Dusman, Chambersburg

Dusman was second on the team in scoring with five goals and six assists, and was a threat for the team as a defensive mid. She was selected as a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division first-team all-star, and was a top-12 scorer between Franklin and Fulton counties. She was the seventh best in Franklin County.

Coach of the Year: Katie Gantz, Shalom Christian

For the last three years, Gantz has guided the Flames to three straight Mason-Dixon Christian Conference championship matchups, winning one of those. She has compiled a 46-10 record in three years at Shalom.

Player of the Year: Lauren Ching, Chambersburg

Ching was named to the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division First Team after earning a stellar 526 assists ... She also had 163 digs - good enough for second on the team - and added 56 kills on the season.

Coach of the Year: Chris Mellott, McConnellsburg

Being only the second coach in program history, Mellott had big shoes to fill, but he was successful. In his first year coaching, he helped his team to an 11-8-1 record and a berth in the District 5 Class 1A semifinals.

Player of the Year: Lauren Ocker, Chambersburg

Ocker scored two goals, including a game-winner versus Greencastle-Antrim. Of Chambersburg's six wins, three games by shutout, and she was a Public Opinion Second Team pick last year.

Coach of the Year: Chris Lehman, Shalom Christian

For the second straight year, Lehman led the Flames to a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference title. In two years at the helm, he has garnered a 32-7-1 record, including just a three-loss season this year.

Player of the Year: Nathan Maynard, Chambersburg

In addition to earning P.O. Player of the Year honors, Maynard was also named the MVP of the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division. He finished with nine goals and seven assists this season.

Football All-Stars

Coach of the Year: Eric Foust, Shippensburg

Foust guided the Greyhounds to their best season in program history, including a trip to the District 3 Class 4A championship. He was also named the Mid Penn Colonial Division Coach of the Year.

Player of the Year: Cody Gustafson, Shippensburg

The Mid Penn Colonial Division Offensive MVP, Gustafson finished the season with 84 catches, 15 touchdowns and 1,577 receiving yards. He now holds school records for career catches (170) and career receiving yards (2,862).
