F-F H.S. Highlights: Tuesday Oct. 25
Gardenhour finishes 15th: Waynesboro senior Olivia Gardenhour wrapped up her career with a 15th-place finish at the PIAA Championships on Tuesday at Heritage Hills in York.
Gardenhour shot a second-day score of 86, three better than Monday's 89, which gave her a total of 175, giving her 15th place out of a field of 18 golfers.
"Olivia played better today than yesterday,"Maidens coach Ryan Henderson said. "Being 15th in the state of Pennsylvania is not too shabby for a girl who did not play golf her freshman year. She drove the ball well all day long. Her short game was solid except for the occasional three-putt.
"Her round today was highlighted by a 60-foot birdie putt on the 11th hole. It was an uphill and then downhill snake that found its way to the bottom of the cup. That brought a cheer from the crowd."
