F-F H.S. Highlights: Chambersburg tennis earns 1st win
The Chambersburg girls tennis team broke into the win column Friday afternoon by handing Harrisburg a 4-1 non-league defeat.
The Trojans won their first match after starting the season dropping their first 11.
In singles, Chambersburg picked up a pair of dominant victories. At No. 2, Emma Guare won 6-1, 6-2 over Destiny Perez, and Hope Sprecher took a 6-0, 6-0 verdict over Estefania Ledesma at No. 3.
At No. 1, the Cougars' Destiny Marques-Velez earned a 7-5, 6-3 nod over Madison Mellinger.
The Trojans also swept the doubles competition, with Kara Wiley and Cally Papoutsis taking a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 blanking at No. 2 by Aubrey Carlin and Caroline Hance.

Boys soccer
McConnellsburg 2, Rockwood 0: Nic Culler and Bryce Kylor both scored for McConnellsburg in a non-league victory against Rockwood. The Spartans are now 4-1-1.
Girls volleyball
St. James 3, Fannett-Metal 1: After winning the first set, Fannett-Metal struggled in a non-league loss to St. James. Jade Rhodes paced the Tigers (1-7) with five kills, while Kassie Holtry racked up 15 digs.
Grace Academy 3, Cumb. Valley Christian 0: Cumberland Valley Christian scored just 13 points in the first set, and although it scored 20 in each of the next two, it wasn’t enough to overcome Grace in Mason-Dixon Christian Conference action. The Blazers (3-6, 2-6 MDCC) had a fine defensive effort with Mackenzie Householder leading the way with nine digs and 10 assists. Ashley Winters also contributed seven digs.
Girls tennis
James Buchanan 5, Camp Hill 0: The Rockets (11-3, 7-3 MPC) had no trouble getting past Camp Hill, giving up a total of only four points in the three singles matches. At No. 1 doubles, JB's Abby Mackling and Megan Hoffeditz had to battle, taking a 7-5, 6-0 win over Emily Morela and Chloe Delaye.
