F-F H.S. Highlights: G-A's defense downs Bubblers

It came down to defense on Tuesday night, and it was Greencastle-Antrim’s boys soccer team that got the best of Boiling Springs in a Mid Penn Colonial Division matchup.

With a 2-1 win, the Blue Devils remain undefeated and are three games into their defense of the Colonial Division title.

Greencastle (3-0, 3-0 MPC) struck first when Luke Herman controlled a pass from Kaleb Hurley down the left flank. Herman beat his defender before sending a pass in front to Brandon Stuhler, who buried his shot.

The Bubblers tied it up before the end of the first half, but again, Herman played hero. In the second half, a Blue Devil throw-in rebounded around the box until Herman collected it at the top of the 18 and hit a shot into the far corner.

“We had a lot of opportunities on throw-ins that we just didn’t capitalize on,” G-A coach Scott Gelsinger said. “Finally, Luke hit a great shot. Also, their keeper made some real nice saves. Both teams played very good defense tonight, and most of the game was played in the middle of the field.”
