P.O. Honor Roll


CADE BENDER, Greencaslte-Antrim baseball: Bender threw his first complete game of the season with a 2-0 shutout over Fleetwood in Game 1 of the Muhlenberg Tournament on Saturday. He allowed just three hits, struck out one and walked one.

MYLES BRAXTON, Chambersburg boys track & field: Braxton’s hurl of more than 48 feet, paired with Kelton Chastulik’s throw in the shot put at the Cedar Cliff Relays broke the 17-year-old Chambersburg record in the relay shot put event and the meet record. Braxton also placed second against Central Dauphin.

ZACH CLARK, Southern Fulton baseball: Clark stole four bases against Meyersdale in the Indians' 4-3 victory. He also claimed the win on the mound in four innings of work. He allowed three hits and struck out two.

GARRISON CROUSE, McConnellsburg baseball: Crouse threw a four-hitter against Southern Fulton in a big SHL/ICC upset. He also struck out two. Crouse gave up two runs in the first inning, then shut out the Indians the rest of the way, allowing McConnellsburg to come back for a 4-2 victory.

BROOKE EMGE, Shalom Christian girls soccer: Emge scored eight goals in three games, including five in the Flames’ 9-0 win over Calvary. She added a goal and an assist against Heritage, and netted two more against Carroll.

MILES HEARON, Mercersburg Academy baseball: Hearon improved his record to 3-1 by throwing a one-hitter in a six-inning 10-0 shutout over Peddie in Game 2 of a doubleheader.

FRANCISCO MAYA, Waynesboro baseball: Maya's first home run of the season was a big one, a grand slam homer in the second inning of Waynesboro's 12-3 win over Milton Hershey.

CELINA MERCHANT, Southern Fulton girls track & field: Merchant broke her own school record in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.73 at the NBC Invite, in which she finished fourth. She also placed fourth in the 100 hurdles and the long jump.

LIAM OKAL, Greencastle-Antrim boys track & field: Okal broke the stadium and school record in the 200 during Greencastle's duel meet with James Buchanan. He completed the sprint in 21.7 seconds.

CAMPBELL PARKER, Greencastle-Antrim boys track & field: Parker claimed gold in the discus and shot put against James Buchanan and broke his own stadium record in the discus with a toss of 173-08.

JORDAN PIZZARRO, Greencastle-Antrim girls track & field: Pizzaro won the 100 in 12.60 and tied a stadium record in the girls 200 with a time of 26.0.

COURTNEY SCHOEN, Forbes Road softball: Schoen threw a one-hitter and struck out nine for the Cardinals in Game 1 of a non-league doubleheader sweep against St. Maria Goretti. She was also 3-for-4 at the plate and brought in three runs.

LEXY POE, Shalom Christian girls soccer: Poe scored back-to-back hat tricks this week with two three-goal performances against Carroll and Heritage. She also had two goals and two assists in a win over Calvary.

ALI SHERMAN, Greencaslte-Antrim softball: Sherman hit her first-ever home run Saturday in the Big Spring Tournament semifinal - and it happened to be a grand slam to “put the nail in the coffin” in the Blue Devils’ 12-4 win over Shippensburg. She has gone 4-for-7 with two RBIs in the Blue Devils' last two games.

NATALIE SAYLOR, Chambersburg softball: Saylor, a senior, hasn’t had much playing time so far this year, but broke out in the Big Spring Tournament, going 5-for-9 with two RBIs and scored four times on the way to aiding her team in a tournament championship.
