Chambersburg gymnastics beats Waynesboro


CHAMBERSBURG - The Chambersburg gymnastics team came out on top at its annual Think Pink Invitational, beating Waynesboro and Paramount with a 125.2 overall team score.

Waynesboro placed second with 118.75, followed by Paramount, which scored 84.25.

"The Trojans had a great night tonight. I was so proud of them," Chambersburg gymnastics coach Lexi Bowie said. "They were all in a good place tonight, very focused and relaxed."

Despite Chambersburg's win in the invitational, Waynesboro's Alex Stoops took home the all-around medal, beating the next-leading performer by more than 10 points. Stoops also won gold in vault, uneven bars and the floor exercise.

Chambersburg's Jocelyn Kibbe claimed third in all-around, with a second-place performance in the floor exercise, scoring 8.4 and third on vault with the same score.

Jaelynn Walker tied for first on beam with a score of 8.5 with Paramount's Caitlyn King. And Kayli Straub took home bronze in the beam (7.8) and floor exercise (8.05).
