JAMIE BIRGFELD, Fannett-Metal boys soccer: Birgfeld lifted the Tigers to a 3-0 week that including two shutouts. He had 11 saves in a 3-0 defeat of James Buchanan and had nine stops in a shutout of Chestnut Ridge. Birgfeld also added eight saves in a 4-2 win over Southern Fulton.

KIERSTEN CLINE, Forbes Road field hockey: Cline was unstoppable this week in four victories for the Cardinals. She racked up nine goals and 11 assists, including a five-goal, four-assist performance in a win over Mercersburg Academy.

CADEN FICKS, James Buchanan football: Ficks had his best defensive game of the season for the Rockets in a loss to Northern York. He finished with 10.5 tackles.

OLIVIA FOGELSONGER, Waynesboro girls volleyball: Fogelsonger was a heavy hitter in all three of the Maidens' wins this week. She finished with a total of 36 kills in three matches, including 15 against Northern York. She also had five blocks vs. Northern and four against Big Spring.

NICK FRANKI, Waynesboro boys golf: Franki continued his postseason by earning a berth into the District 3 Championships. He posted a 3-over 75 at Mid Penns that included birdies on Nos. 7 and 11. He tied for fifth place.

OLIVIA GARDENHOUR, Waynesboro girls golf: Gardenhour was the top local finisher at the Mid Penn Girls Conference Championships. She shot an 86, scoring 43s on both the front and back nines, to place fifth overall and advance to districts.

KAYLEA GARMAN, Chambersburg field hockey: Garman posted a hat trick for the Trojans in a big win over Central Dauphin East.

CODY GUSTAFSON, Shippensburg football: Despite the Greyhounds suffering a loss to East Pennsboro, Gustafson had a fine offensive effort. He had six catches for 110 yards and scored Ship's only touchdown.

TYLER JEFFREYS, Greencastle-Antrim football: Jeffreys led a well-rounded defense for the Blue Devils in a victory over Big Spring. He recorded 11 tackles and one pass break-up.

HANNAH MCGARVEY, McConnellsburg girls soccer: The Spartans picked up a pair of victories this weekend with the help of McGarvey. She finished with a goal and two assists in each of McConnellsburg's wins.

SHAYE SMARTT, Southern Fulton girls volleyball: Smartt had a well-rounded week for the Indians. She had 10 kills, six digs and two aces in a loss to Alleghany; she added 10 kills and seven digs against Mount Union; and she finished with nine kills versus Everett.

CAMERON TINNER, Shippensburg football: Tinner was a defensive force for the Greyhounds in a loss to East Pennsboro. He racked up 10 tackles, including three for a loss.

AARON TYLICKI, Waynesboro boys soccer: Tylicki scored a pair of goals and had an assist to lift the Indians to a big victory over Shippensburg. Tylicki also added a goal in an overtime loss to Greencastle-Antrim.

CHASE VARNER, Southern Fulton boys soccer: Varner had a productive week despite a pair of losses for the Indians. He scored a hat trick and had an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to Everett, and he had a goal and an assist versus Fannett-Metal.

ABBY YOURKAVITCH, Chambersburg girls cross country: At the Carlisle Invitational, Yourkavitch posted the best 5K time in Chambersburg history. She finished in fourth place in 18:13, besting a time of 18:30 posted in 2005 by Sarah Morrison.
