9 area soccer players named SHL first-team All-Stars


After another successful season in District 5 for area soccer teams, Franklin and Fulton counties pulled together nine Sideling Hill League first-team honors, with seven area soccer players stacking the boys' first team. Six area athletes took home SHL honorable mentions.

Fannett-Metal's Mikell McGee and Wyatt Thorne each earned first-team honors, while Kyler Goshorn claimed an honorable mention. The McConnellbsurg boys team took home three first-team nods, with Nic Culler, Cody Parsons and Hunter Souders highlighting the first team, and Landon Seiders and Ethan Barclay earned honorable mentions.

Chase Varner and Benjy Voight of Southern Fulton were named first-team All-Stars, while teammates Cam McCray and Jacob Silver were named honorable mentions.

McConnellsburg's girls team had two first-team honors in McKenzie Garlock and Savannah Kerlin. Kailey Swope earned an honorable mention.
