H.S. golf: Mercersburg Academy wins Keystone Cup


BLUE STORM WIN KEYSTONE CUP >> Mercersburg Academy traveled to Sterling, Va., and earned a victory in the inaugural Keystone Cup.

The Blue Storm totaled 433 to edge Hill (446) and Kiski (449).

"It is great to win the Cup in the first year of the event," Mercersburg coach Doug Smith said. "But this event is about celebration of the camaraderie and sportsmanship these three schools have grown to appreciate. This was a fantastic way to finish off a very special season for our team."

Roland Morris led Mercersburg by turning in a 78, missing out on medalist honors by a single stroke. Following Moriss was Ruichi Zhou, who carded an 84. Shayan Ghodsi shot an 86, and Ross Brown cobbled together a solid 87.
