CHAMBERSBURG >> Chambersburg swept Shippensburg in a non-league girls volleyball match on Monday night as the Lady Trojans prepare for playoffs.

Beating the Lady Hounds (2-12) handily in the final two sets with of score of 25-7 each, Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said the team played sound volleyball once they settled in.

Chambersburg (13-3) found a rhythm behind the service line, with more than 35 service points earned by the Lady Trojans through three sets. Danessa Martin led with 13 service points and five aces, while Jenna Lombardozzi and Caitlin Vrabel both had 11 service points.

Cara Long led in kills with nine, Lauren Ching had 29 assists and Kailey Layman made 13 digs.

"We have a big week ahead of us," Frelin said. "Hopefully we're getting into the right frame of mind going into playoffs. They came out today pretty focused; we started pretty slow but once we started playing we played pretty soundly."

JAMES BUCHANAN 3, LITTLESTOWN 0 >> James Buchanan handed Littlestown a non-league loss in three sets and the win pushed the Rockets over .500 for the first time this season.

JB (8-7) won by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-21.

"Tonight the girls fought for every point and kept their head in the game, even when we were down," Rockets coach Tonya Miller said. "They stayed mentally tough and came through with important plays when we needed them."

Tyana Quivers led JB with five blocks, three kills and a pair of aces. Kayla Cummings had 15 assists and Sarah Blair dug up 17 balls and scored two aces.

WAYNESBORO 3, SOUTH WESTERN 1 >> Waynesboro preserved its perfect record with a non-league victory in four sets over South Western.

Waynesboro dropped the second set 25-19, and was forced to take the third into extra points to secure a 27-25 win in the third game. The Maidens earned a 25-18 victory in the fourth set, avoiding a second-consecutive five-set match.

Ciara Rosenberger had 16 kills and an ace, while Rachel Johnson had 14 kills and two blocks for Waynesboro (18-0).
