JAMES BUCHANAN 3, SHIPPENSBURG 0 >> James Buchanan shut out Shippensburg in a Mid Penn Capital Division match, but the Greyhounds did not go down without a fight.

After a 25-12 loss in the first set, Shippensburg (2-11, 2-10 MPC) battled in the final two frames, forcing JB to play tight sets to earn the match-win. The Rockets squeezed by in games two and three 25-21 and 29-27, respectively.

"The girls worked hard tonight," Shippensburg coach Suwan Kongkeattikil said. "Even though we did not get a "W" but they played their hearts out."

Erica Eberly had 10 kills for JB (7-7, 6-6 MPC) in the win.

MCCONNELLSBURG 3, TUSSEY MOUNTAIN 0 >> The Spartans had a day off before returning to Sideling Hill/Inter-County Conference play, and used that day of practice to their advantage to defeat Tussey Mountain.

"I thought we played cleaner volleyball tonight than we've been," McConnellsburg coach Heidi Johnston said. "We worked a lot on timing of our offense and I was to glad to see that paying off at the net."

McConnellsburg (12-2, 7-1 SHL, 6-0 ICC) is unbeaten in its own gym.

SOUTHERN FULTON 3, FANNETT-METAL 1 >> Southern Fulton earned a victory over rival Fannett-Metal in Sideling Hill/Inter-County Conference action.

The Indians won Games 1 and 2 before Fannett-Metal (1-14, 0-9 SHL, 0-7 ICC) bounced back in game three in a close 25-21 victory for the Tigers.

"We had a rough start; we really didn't seem to be in it," Fannett-Metal coach Keri Daniel said. "The Tigers really came alive in the third game. We were talking and moving. Tonight the team showed how we truly play."

Southern Fulton (7-5, 4-4 SHL, 4-3 ICC) avoided Set 5 with another close 25-21 win in the fourth set. SF's Madison Breeze led the Indians with 12 kills, while Mikayla O'Neal earned 16 service points and three aces.
