GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Friday's roundup

SHENANDOAH VALLEY 3, CUMB. VALLEY CHRISTIAN 1 >> Shenandoah Valley and Cumberland Valley Christian played four tight sets – with the widest margin three points – but Shenandoah emerged with a 3-1 non-league girls volleyball victory Friday.

"The girls fought really hard tonight, but just couldn't pull it out," Blazers coach Carole Rosenberry said. "We were down two players and lost another during the match with an injury. The remaining seven players really dug deep and I'm proud of how they didn't let up."

CV Christian (3-5) won the second set 25-23, and fell 25-22 and 25-23 in the final two. Brianna Miley led the Blazers with seven kills and 12 digs. Loryn Sanders had 18 assists and Harli Bergau scored three aces.
