GIRLS TENNIS: Saturday's roundup

MERCERSBURG ACADEMY 5, PEDDIE 2 >> Mercersburg Academy earned a dominating victory over the Peddie School in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League match Saturday, winning four of six singles matches and two of three doubles competitions.

"We never looked back. In singles action, Alexandra Zhukova played nearly flawless tennis, rolling to victory 6-0, 6-0," Mercersburg coach Michael Sweeney said. "(Molly) Widdoes and (Kelsey) Shields were next to finish, each playing clean matches."

Zhukova, Widdoes and Shields each won their singles matches for the Blue Storm. Shields and Widdoes then partnered up to earn a doubles victory. Allyson Chae and Gabbie Albert also won a doubles match for Mercersburg.
