MERCERSBURG 5, STATE COLLEGE 2 >> Mercersburg Academy got some strong play from its Nos. 3 through 6 singles players en route to a non-league victory over State College.

"Early on in singles play, all matches were tight," Blue Storm coach Mike Sweeney said. "In the end, the bottom of the singles ladder pulled away from State College."

No. 3 Allyson Chae had the hardest-fought victory for the Blue Storm (7-2), defeating her opponent just 8-6.

Eliza Smith, Gabbie Albert and Haley Kennedy all earned wins at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
