GIRLS TENNIS: Monday's roundup
JAMES BUCHANAN 5, SUSQUEHANNA TWP. 0 >> James Buchanan was nearly perfect in a non-league shutout of Susquehanna Township.
The Rockets (6-8) lost only one set all afternoon and are now on a four-match winning streak.
"It was a beautiful day for tennis," JB coach Terri Beegle said. "The kids played well, and knocked the rust off. We didn't really practice a whole lot last week, and they were remembering things. That's good to see."
Rachel Martin picked up a shutout victory at No. 1 singles, while Meredyth Sanders beat her No. 2 opponent, 6-0, 6-3. Abbie Heinbaugh had the biggest challenge at No. 3 singles, but she pulled out a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win.
