GIRLS SOCCER: Saturday's roundup


JAMES BUCHANAN 8, LITTLESTOWN 0 >> James Buchanan ended its regular season in girls soccer with a blowout win over Littlestown on Saturday, and now the Rockets must wait to see it it's enough to qualify for the District 3 Class AA playoffs.

Mickey Heinbaugh scored two goals and assisted on two others for JB (10-8), and Sydney Benedick and Madison Peck each hit the net twice. Other goals were scored by Haley Alger and Breanna Dukehart, while Kayla Snider and Aspen Anderson added assists.

Goalkeeper Nina Shatzer made one save for the shutout.

JB coach Terry Appleby said, "Littlestown is pretty young and they had some injuries. We had to win today, but we did not run it up. We hope this is enough to get us in the playoffs."
