GIRLS SOCCER: Monday's roundup

MIDDLETOWN 4, SHIPPENSBURG 1 >> Shippensburg's girls soccer team took a lead early in the second half, but Middletown poured in four goals to claim a non-league victory Monday.

The Lady Hounds (3-8) got a goal from Natalie Nye less than seven minutes into the second half, but the Blue Raiders tied it up on a penalty kick 45 seconds later.

Middletown then went ahead on a Keyna Littles goal and iced the game with a pair of tallies in the final five minutes of regulation.

"We played another solid game," Ship coach Mary Miller said. "We just were a little fatigued at the end of the game, which was on me as the coach to make a few adjustments to get us some fresh legs. I like where we are going; we just need to hold together for a full 80 minutes."

Kaila Ocker assisted Nye's goal, and Hannah Pletcher had eight saves in net for the Hounds.
