GIRLS SOCCER: Thursday's roundup

HERITAGE 5, CV CHRISTIAN 1 >> Cumberland Valley Christian's girls soccer team fell behind early and never recovered in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference loss to Heritage Academy on Thursday.

The Blazers (1-2, 1-2 MDCC) scored in the second half when Maddie Keck assisted Emily Rice for a goal, but Heritage had jumped ahead with three goals in the first half.

"Heritage took advantage of the opportunities that were available to them," CVC coach Paul Lundy said. "We need to continue to work hard each day to generate and finish scoring opportunities. Maddie Keck (our keeper) has assisted on two of our three goals."

The Blazers had only three shots despite racking up 13 corner kicks.
