GIRLS: Wednesday, Ship falls to Cedar Cliff


SHIPPENSBURGShippensburg's struggles in the second quarter Wednesday gave Cedar Cliff the edge it needed to lock in a 54-34 non-league girls basketball victory.

The Lady Hounds had a small lead after the first quarter, but allowed Cedar Cliff to take a 21-8 advantage  in the second, to head into the break down by nine.

The Colts had 30 opportunities at the free throw line - twice as many as Ship - connecting almost half.  

Kara Newell led with 13 points for the Lady Hounds (5-9), followed by Shannon Staver with 10.
