GIRLS: Saturday, big scorers doom Lady Hounds

Middletown 63, Shippensburg 57 >> The Shippensburg Lady Hounds couldn’t contain two 20-point scorers from Middletown as they fall in non-league competition Saturday.

Ja’lynn Burton-Jones and Bianca Jasper scored 21 and 23 points, respectively, for the Blue Raiders as they limited Shippensburg’s top scorer Mariah Martin to 15.

The Lady Hounds (3-7) and Middletown traded productive quarters, with Shippensburg outscoring Middletown in the first and third frames, but the Blue Raiders had the upper hand in the fourth, outscoring Ship 17-3 to lock in the win.

Courtney Coy scored 12 points for Shippensburg, followed by Kayleen Sydnor with 11.
