Mid Penn Colonial Division

Game data: Shippensburg (2-1) travels to face East Pennsboro (2-1) Friday at 7 in what could be a crucial division showdown early in the season.

The Hounds rallied in the second half to beat Bermudian Springs 26-16 last week. Ship trailed 13-6 at halftime but scored 20 points in the third quarter to pull away for the win. Zion Ware led the rushing attack once again, racking up 126 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown. He now has 307 yards in two games. Tyler Gustafson had an efficient week through the air, finishing 16-for-29 with 204 yards and two touchdowns. Wade Mills finished with six catches for 53 yards.

East Pennsboro is coming off a convincing 35-7 win over Susquenita last week and is looking to defend its division co-crown this season. Quarterback Kyle Purnell has been solid at quarterback for the Panthers – he has 557 passing yards and seven touchdowns in three games. Onasis Neely has led the ground attack with 259 yards.

Non-league

Game data: Waynesboro (3-0) will host Cedar Cliff (3-0) Friday at 7, looking to move to 4-0 for the first time since 1984.

The Indians' defense stole the show in their 33-0 shutout of Gettysburg last week. Waynesboro held the Warriors to just 24 yards rushing on 33 carries, and they also had three interceptions. Matt Peck broke out after two quiet games to start the season, finishing with five catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Waynesboro had 501 total yards, including 324 on the ground.

Cedar Cliff has been nearly unstoppable offensively in the early parts of the season. In three games, all double-digit wins, the Colts have averaged 47 points. Grant Breneman has 723 yards through the air in those three games with six touchdowns, and Jayden Demmy is the leading rusher with 432 yards.

Mid Penn Colonial Division

Game data: James Buchanan (0-3) will look to get its offense going when it plays its division opener against Northern York (2-1) on Friday at 7.

The Rockets have been anemic on the offensive side, scoring just six total points in three games after a 56-0 loss to Camp Hill last week. Seth Carbaugh has been the lone bright spot on the offensive side with 202 yards on 45 carries this season – a 4.49 yards-per-carry average. He also leads the team with 22.5 tackles.

Northern is coming off a convincing 42-13 win over Mechanicsburg. The Polar Bears got most of their work done on the ground, led by Michael Kearney, who had 17 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He leads the team with 304 yards this season. Robert Shelly also added 81 yards on just seven carries.
