Carlisle blankets Chambersburg in 2-0 victory

CARLISLE >> Chambersburg's field hockey team, which took first-place Cumberland Valley into overtime on Wednesday, was not able to sustain that level of play Friday.

The Trojans were blanked 2-0 by Carlisle in a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division contest.

"We just did not show up to play today," Chambersburg coach Jen Amsley said. "It was very disappointing after the way we played against CV."

The Trojans (7-10, 5-9 MPC) generated only one shot on goal and did not have a penalty corner. Goalie Ari Burke made five saves.

Taylor Shughart knocked in both goals for the Thundering Herd (8-10, 6-8 MPC), one in each half.
