Roundup: Truax's goal lifts Forbes Road

FORBES ROAD 1, GREENCASTLE-ANTRIM 0, OT >> Brittany Truax finally solved a strong Greencastle defense in overtime to lift Forbes Road to a 1-0 non-league field hockey victory on Saturday.

McKenzie Gelvin picked up a loose ball in the midfield and passed to Malea Truax on the right side. She crossed it to Brittany Truax, who was able to put a shot past Blue Devil goalie Mackenzie Oberholzer, who had made 16 saves to that point.

Cardinal coach Carol Cline said, "Greencastle was relentless denying us on defense. They were packed in their goalie was really good.

"We had three starters out, all halfbacks, so we had to put in two freshmen and a sophomore – Mara Broadwater, Payton Watkins and Madeline Miller – and they did a really good job."
