FIELD HOCKEY: Tuesday's roundup

FORBES ROAD 12, MERCERSBURG 0 >> Forbes Road's field hockey team scored six goals in each half to claim a non-league victory over Mercersburg Academy.

Kiersten Cline had a dominating day for the Cardinals (10-2) – she finished with five goals and four assists. Brittany Truax had four goals and a pair of assists, while Malea Truax scored twice and had one helper.

"We're dominating the attack, but I was so impressed with their goalkeeper (Maya Miller)," Forbes Road coach Carol Cline said. "She was just really pushing us out and denying that space, so we had to pass to beat the goaltender. Ten goals were assisted or double-assisted."

Miller finished with 27 saves and three clears, while the Blue Storm's Ria Giannaris had two defensive clears.

Olivia Hall stopped Mercersburg's only shot to earn the Cardinals' ninth shutout of the season.
