FIELD HOCKEY: Friday's roundup

CHAMBERSBURG >> Mini Kifolo proved to be a thorn in Chambersburg's side on Friday.

Kifolo was responsible for both of State College's goals in what turned out to be a 2-0 win for the Little Lions over the Trojans in a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division field hockey game Friday afternoon.

Kifolo's first goal came with 12:26 left in the half on a penalty corner with an assist from Kelsey Love. She found the back of the cage again with less than four and a half minutes left in the half, this time getting help from Emily Allegar. That was all State College would need as Chambersburg (3-4, 2-4 MPC) couldn't convert its corner shots.

"Our kids played hard and the stats show it was pretty even. We were in this game, but we just couldn't capitalize on our penalty corners," Trojan coach Jen Amsley said. "Rachel Dusman and Sydney Kegerreis had great games today."

State College out-shot Chambersburg 6-2, but held only an 8-7 advantage in penalty corners.
