TRACK & FIELD: Thursday's roundup

SPARTANS SPLIT WITH EVERETT >> McConnellsburg's girls ended their regular season on a high note with an 88-60 victory over Everett in Inter-County Conference action.

The boys weren't as lucky, suffering an 82-86 defeat.

McKenzie Gelvin had quite a day for the Lady Spartans (11-2, 9-2 ICC). She won the 100, 200 and 400 and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay. Michaela Kendall was a triple winner, as she also participated in the winning 4x400, and captured first in the 1,600 and the 800.

Sam Roberts wrapped up McConnellsburg's fine day on the track with a victory in the 3,200, and she also won the shot put. Veronica Stone helped the Spartans sweep the throws by taking first in the discus and the javelin.

On the boys side (8-4, 6-4 ICC), Josh Booth was the top performer of the day. He won both hurdle events and was the third leg of the winning 4x400.

In the field, McConnellsburg won just two events. Tyrelle White won the discus, and Connor Johnson had the top throw in the shot put.
