MERCERSBURG COMPETES AT PENN RELAYS >> Mercersburg Academy competed at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

On Saturday, the Mercersburg boys competed in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Kam Undieh, Brice Sydnor, Carlos Austin and Ugochukwu Okolie finished 120th in a field of 315 with a time of 45.70 in the 4x100, and Alex Jackson, Jude Ikekhua, Sydnor and Okolie took eighth out of 18 in the 4x400 with a time of 3:36.13.

The girls also competed in the 4x100 and 4x400 on Thursday. The 4x100 team of Finley Stewart, Tatiana Purnell, Teal Tasker and Georgia Dunphy fumbled the third handoff and finished in 55.91, and the 4x400 team of Stewart, Michaela White, Dunphy and Purnell finished fifth in their heat with a time of 4:12.51.

PEPPERNICK NABS TWO FIRSTS AT NBC INVITATIONAL >> Southern Fulton and Fannett-Metal both competed in the Northern Bedford Invitational on Friday, and Peppernick once again came away with a pair of wins.

He dominated the discus with a toss of 164-11, which was over 25 feet farther than the second-place finisher. He also chucked the shot put 47-6 to take first. Steven Glodeck also cracked the top five for the Tigers, taking fifth in the 1600 with a time of 5:02, and Hunter Angle took sixth in the 400 with a time of 56.30.

For the Southern Fulton boys, Dristin Mellott had a pair of impressive finishes. He took third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.72 and also grabbed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 19-5. Benji Voight finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:10.67, Chase Varner took second in the 1600 with a time of 4:55.79 and Jacob Pryor's time of 11:03.48 in the 3200 was good for sixth.

On the girls side, Southern Fulton's Linsey Pryor took fourth in the pole vault by clearing 8-0, and Fannett-Metal's Lizzie Peppernick finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 27-2
