CHAMBERSBURG >> Chambersburg won two of the three singles matches and cruised in both doubles matches, which was plenty to hand Red Land a defeat.

The Trojans (6-2, 3-0 MPC) won their fifth consecutive match after starting the season 1-2.

Aaron Palm's effort at No. 2 singles spurred Chambersburg to the win. He fell 6-1 in the first set to Andrew Otto, but rallied to take the final two sets, 6-3 and 6-1.

Trojan coach Brad Hill said, "After losing the first set, Aaron fought hard to win the second and third sets. His footwork enabled him to win a lot of long rallies."

Jay Padalia then coasted at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and the doubles teams of Haris Ahmed-Naushair Hussain (6-0, 6-0) and Garrett Ernst-Nayyer Malik (6-3, 6-1) also won big to clinch the victory.

Hill said, "Those guys all looked strong and won in two sets."

At No. 1 singles, Michael Chute lost in two sets to the Patriots' Peter Landis.

"Michael played his best tennis of the year against the defending Mid Penn champion," Hill said.
