MCCONNELLSBURG 6, CUMB. VALLEY CHRISTIAN 1 >> After allowing Cumberland Valley Christian to score early in the first half, McConnellsburg kicked things into high gear for a non-league victory.

The Spartans were led by senior Jake Boehme who scored a hat trick in the win.

"We played a terrible first half," McConnellsburg coach Cory Houck said. "That was the first game we've played all year that we didn't score first, but we came out and played a much better second half, but it was definitely not our best game."

Despite a slow start McConnellsburg (14-1) had 20 shots and forced CVC keeper Justin Mummert to make 11 saves.

Joel Vandersleen had the lone goal of the game for the Blazers (5-14).

BOILING SPRINGS 8, JAMES BUCHANAN 1 >> Boiling Springs earned a comfortable victory over Mid Penn Colonial opponent James Buchanan at home.

The Bubblers were able to score twice in the first minute of play as they earned a five-goal lead in the first half. Matt Ly had two goals and two assists in the first 40 minutes alone.

After halftime Boiling Springs earned two more goals, as Ly locked in a hattrick for the Bubblers, before Connor Fritsche scored for JB (0-15-2, 0-10 MPC) to avoid the shutout in the 64th minute.
