BOYS SOCCER: Wednesday's roundup

FANNETT-METAL 6, NORTHERN BEDFORD 2 >> Despite getting off to a slow start, Fannett-Metal righted the train and picked up a Sideling Hill League victory over Northern Bedford on Wednesday.

Northern Bedford scored first, but the Tigers (13-2, 9-1 SHL) answered just 20 seconds later with a goal from Kyler Goshorn and went on to score the next four goals in a row.

"That was positive to see that we responded like that," F-M coach Greg Best said. "Again, I thought our defense and our midfield played well. We got a lot of different people scoring tonight, which is good moving forward."

Mikell McGee finished with a pair of goals, while Kolby Hammond, Dylan Siebert and Becky Runk all scored one each.

"I thought Everett played us pretty tough this evening," McConnellsburg coach Cory Houck said. "They kept the pressure on our midfield. Our defense did a good job of holding off the fast breakaway this evening."

Hunter Souders had three saves to preserve the shutout.
