WAYNESBORO >> Waynesboro didn't show any signs of trouble while playing in the rain on Tuesday evening.

The Indians scored a pair of goals in each half and took a 4-0 lead before finishing off a surprising 4-1 Mid Penn Colonial Division boys soccer victory over Shippensburg at Buchanan Automotive Stadium.

The result turned around a 3-0 win for Ship the last time the teams played.

Aaron Tynicki carried the load offensively for the Indians (4-7-1, 4-3 MPC). He scored both first-half goals – the first less than two minutes into the game and the second just before halftime – and assisted on the third goal. Jake Atkinson and Zac Forrester also hit the net and Tim Correll added an assist.

For the Greyhounds (6-6-1, 4-2-1 MPC), Jackson VanHorne put them on the board inside three minutes to go by converting a penalty kick.

"It was just a great hustle goal," Shalom coach Chris Lehman said. "It was a good finish. It was very rainy, so that did not make things easy for either team. But I liked how we kept up the pressure."
