WARFORDSBURG >> Fannett-Metal scored a pair of goals late in the first half and the Tigers used them to garner a Sideling Hill League victory over Southern Fulton, 4-2, on Monday night.

After the Tigers (7-2, 5-1 SHL) scored in the 37th and 38th minutes of the game, they came out of the halftime break equally as strong. Mikell McGee and Wyatt Thorne both scored in the first five minutes of the second half to ensure the victory.

Kyler Goshorn scored both first-half goals, and Layton Hoffmann was credited with a pair of assists.

For Southern Fulton (2-5, 1-3 SHL), Chase Varner had a goal and an assist, and Cam McCray scored once.

MCCONNELLSBURG 12, FORBES ROAD 0 >> Unbeaten McConnellsburg put up six goals in each half to hand Forbes Road a Sideling Hill League defeat.

Jake Boehme piled up five goals and an assist for the Spartans (7-0, 5-0 SHL), Patrick Keefer had a trio of goals and two assists, while Nic Culler posted three goals and added one helper. Also for McConnellsburg, Chad Bunch had a goal, Ethan Barclay chipped in three assists and Josh Booth and Brandon Kyler assisted on a goal each.

"I thought our passing looked much improved today," Spartan coach Cory Houck said. "Nic Culler (normally a center back) got up the field today and found the goal three times."

For the Cardinals (1-6, 0-5 SHL), Bryce Ulsh made nine saves.

MIDDLETOWN 2, SHIPPENSBURG 1 >> Middletown scored two goals in a three-minute time span to steal a non-league victory from Shippensburg.

The Greyhounds (6-5-1) broke a scoreless tie when Luke Ashberry scored with an assist from Matt West in the 51st minute. But less than 15 minutes later, the Blue Raiders got goals from Mike Brinton and Blake Gill in quick succession.

Brandon Crouse had three saves in goal for Ship.

"Carlisle has a very young team, and we used our experience to get around them," CVC coach Stan Hott said. "We opened up the field pretty wide and stayed patient."

The Blazers (3-8) got balanced scoring. Six players scored goals, including two each by Jim Bolich, Soto Ono and Sterling Bard, and six players had assists, led by from three from Eli Black, and two each by Ono and Sterling Bard.
