WILLOW HILL >> Hyndman and Fannett-Metal combined for three goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, and the rest of the way the Tigers were trying in vain to catch up.

The Hornets erased an early F-M lead when Hunter Scaife knocked in a pair of goals in a span of 3:05 and then hung on for the non-league boys soccer victory.

Fannett-Metal coach Greg Best said, "On both of their goals we had a defender fall down, allowing their kid to get free and he hit nice shots both times. We just had a mental lapse for three minutes and it cost us."

Mikell McGee got the Tigers (3-2) on the board just 1:46 into the game when he headed in a nice cross from the left side by Layton Hoffmann. But, although Fannett-Metal led in shots 19-5, that was all they could score.

"We played hard, we controlled the ball and I was proud of the guys," Best said, "but they packed it in and every shot we took was either deflected or saved."
