GIRLS: Wednesday's roundup

Forbes Road 46, Tussey Mountain 41: Forbes Road put itself in position to claim a District 5 playoff berth by defeating Tussey Mountain in a Sideling Hill/Inter-County Conference game.

"Now we need to win Friday (in a home game vs. Johnstown Christian)," FR coach Jeff Gelvin said. "If we do, I think we're in; if we don't, we're out."

The Cardinals (9-12, 5-11 SHL, 3-11 ICC) got 14 points and seven steals from McKenzie Gelvin, and 12 points and five rebounds from Mina Wilt.

Jeff Gelvin said, "It was a really tight game; every quarter was close. We got it up to five or six points in the fourth and they got it to three once, but we hung in there. We played good defense, although we didn't shoot well. The main thing is we got the win. Every game now is a playoff game for us."
