BASEBALL: Saturday's roundup

HUN 3-4, MERCERSBURG 1-17 >> Mercersburg Academy played a fine Mid-Atlantic Prep League doubleheader against Hun on Saturday, and ended in a split.

The Blue Storm had three errors in the fourth inning of Game 1 and suffered a 3-1 defeat, but they reigned victorious in the nightcap, 17-4.

"The first game was an absolutely beautiful high school game to watch," Mercersburg coach Karl Reisner said. "We blew two chances with runners on second and third with less than two outs, but it was a fun game to watch. Both pitchers were in control and around the plate the whole time."

In Game 1, Beau Lowery took the loss despite allowing just three hits. He walked two and struck out five and allowed only one earned run. Chris Adusei-Poku had a double in the first inning to drive in Mercersburg's only run.

In the second game, the Blue Storm (13-2, 6-2 MAPL) took advantage of 10 walks and scored 17 runs on just 10 hits. Desi Andrew and Brandon Thomas led the way with three hits apiece, while Miles Hearon and Lowery each had two.
