BASEBALL: Saturday's roundup

HILL 12, MERCERSBURG 5 >> Mercersburg Academy's baseball team got off to a quick start, but Hill capitalized on seven Blue Storm errors to pull out a Mid-Atlantic Prep League win.

The Blue Storm (10-1, 5-1 MAPL) scored two runs in the first inning, but Hill scored four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. The Blues then scored a combined eight runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to put the game away.

"It was just one of those games," Mercersburg coach Karl Reisner said. "Our starter Beau Lowery got into a collision in the first inning, and he couldn't pitch the rest of the game. We committed seven errors, and all of their runs in the first inning were unearned."

Chris Adosei-Poku finished with three hits – two doubles – and two RBIs, and Mike DelaRose belted his first home run of the season – a solo shot.
