LINGLESTOWN >> It was another rough offensive day for Chambersburg's baseball team.

The Trojans got a fine performance from Austin Suders on the mound, but managed a total of just three hits in 3-1 loss to Central Dauphin in Mid Penn Commonwealth Division action Thursday.

"Well, we didn't hit, and we didn't field well," Chambersburg coach Bob Thomas said. "That's basically it. Suders pitched decent enough to win the game – if we would've hit the ball."

The Trojans (5-5, 3-4 MPC) trailed by two runs before making some noise offensively. Carlin Christian reached on an error, and while the Rams were trying to pick him off at first, another throwing error allowed him to get all the way to third.

Tristan Daywalt then hit an RBI single to plate Chambersburg's only run of the game. Bryce Fiegl and Matt Stonesifer had the other two hits for the Trojans.

"I really don't know what's going on," Thomas said. "We thought we would hit well, but so far, we haven't."

Suders threw the full game, scattering five hits and allowing just one earned run. He struck out three and didn't walk any.

Aaron Gress earned the win for the Rams (6-5, 4-4 MPC). He has held the Trojans to just five hits in his two outings against them this year.
