BASEBALL: Saturday's roundup, Greencastle commits 8 errors in loss to Spring Grove
SPRING GROVE >> Errors continue to harm Greencastle-Antrim's baseball team.
In a non-league contest Saturday afternoon, Spring Grove needed only six hits to grab an 8-1 victory, in large part because of eight Blue Devil errors.
"We have got to start fielding routine ground balls, like, as soon as a possible," Greencastle coach Eric Shaner said. "We are giving up way too much. We're having a season's worth of errors in every game. Our pitchers are throwing well, and we need to start supporting them."
Greencastle (3-3) also struggled at the plate, managing only four hits and one run, which came in the final inning. Matt Kline led the offense by going 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base.
Only three of the Rockets' runs were earned.
