P.O. Honor Roll


SAMMIE BENDER, Chambersburg softball: Bender threw a no-hitter for the Lady Trojans to clinch the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division in an 11-1 win over Carlisle. She struck out six and walked one.

CASSIDY FRITZ, Greencastle-Antrim girls track & field: Fritz claimed the 100 at the Rt. 16 Invitational, beating the next runner by just two-tenths of a second, finishing in 17.42. She also won the 300 hurdles in 53.23.

CHANCE HAWBAKER, McConnellsburg boys track & field: Hawbaker was a double winner at the boys ICC Championships, claiming the 100 and 200 sprints.

HUNTER KANN, Fannett-Metal baseball: Kann threw just three innings of Fannett-Metal’s 13-3 win over Tussey Mountain, but he struck out five batters and allowed two hits in relief.

DEREK MEASELL, Greencastle-Antrim baseball: Measell retired 11 straight batters and struck out six against Chambersburg to shut down any chance of a Trojan rally in a 4-2 non-league win.

MITCH POTTER, Southern Fulton baseball: Potter earned his first career win for Southern Fulton in a non-league victory over Hancock. He struck out five and walked one in four innings of work.

MADELINE SPEARS, Waynesboro girls track & field: Spears was a two-event winner at the Rt. 16 Invitational by winning the long jump and triple jump.

HUNTER SPOONHOUR, James Buchanan baseball: Spoonhour entered the Rockets’ MPC game against Waynesboro as a relief pitcher early in the first inning, but ended up throwing all 21 outs in JB’s 13-6 victory. He struck out seven and walked three in his seven-inning relief outing.

FINLEY STEWART, Mercersburg Academy girls track & field: Stewart won every event she participated in at the Rt. 16 Invite, taking gold in the 100, 200 and 400 and was on the winning 4x400 relay team.

MORGAN WAGAMAN, Greencastle-Antrim softball: Wagaman used skilled base running to score the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh against Chambersburg, handing the Trojans their second loss of the season. She got on base with a successful bunt, and advanced around the bases and home on a steal and back-to-back errors.

JUSTIN WELSH, McConnellsburg baseball: Welsh brought in the game-tying and game-winning runs in an SHL/ICC win over Southern Huntingdon to advance the Spartans' winning streak to four.
