Public Opinion Honor Roll


Cole Christian, Chambersburg boys basketball: Christian has been on a tear in the past week for the Trojans. He scored a career-high 30 points in a win over Mifflin County on Friday, and followed it up with 27 in Chambersburg's win over State College on Tuesday.

Casey Hoover, Greencastle-Antrim boys basketball: Hoover's scoring touch has been on the mark recently. The junior piled up 23 points in a win over Boiling Springs on Friday and another 24 in a victory over Waynesboro on Tuesday.

Cameron Keck, Waynesboro boys basketball: Although the Indians are still winless, Keck is doing his part to turn it around. In his last games, the junior has scored 15, 20 and 20 points for Waynesboro.

Mariah Martin, Shippensburg girls basketball: Martin led the way for the Lady Hounds' win over Northern York on Friday with 15 points, and she posted 12 in a loss Tuesday to James Buchanan.

Mikell McGee, Fannett-Metal boys basketball: McGee put up 36 points Friday against Everett, and 36 more Monday against Belleville Mennonite. The junior is now just 16 points away from reaching 1,000 for his career.

Alexis Mellott, McConnellsburg girls basketball: Mellott was a bright spot for the Spartans in their win over Shalom Christian on Tuesday, when she tallied 17 points.

Sam Nonemaker, Shippensburg swimming: Nonemaker collected two wins in a meet against Spring Grove on Monday (200 IM and 100 free), and came back the next day to take first in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly vs. James Buchanan.

Drew Peck, Chambersburg wrestling: At the 112-team Beast of the East Tournament in Delaware, Peck placed fifth at 182 pounds. He ended with a 5-2 record, which included three straight one-point decisions.

Aaron Rump, Chambersburg wrestling: Rump was seeded No. 7, but placed fourth at the Beast of the East Tournament in Delaware. Rump finished with a 6-2 record at 132 pounds.

Alex Stoops, Waynesboro gymnastics: Stoops won every event and the all-around at the Chambersburg Winter Invitational last Friday. She scored 8.5 on the beam, 8.6 on the bars, 8-5 on the floor and 8-4 in vault to total a 34.0 score in the all-around.
