Vote: YAIAA Boys' Athlete of the Week

It was a big regular-season basketball game in the YAIAA, when Northeastern and Central squared off at York College on Saturday night.

After all, each team entered the contest with just one loss on their respective resumes — Central held a 12-1 overall record while Northeastern owned a 10-1 mark.

Northeastern got the better end of this matchup, however, winning 63-58.

Yet while the Bobcats' success was somewhat expected, Central's has come as a surprise. Yes, the team had a good bench last season, but they also lost leading scorer Sam Saxton and big man Charlie Gingrich elected not to return to the squad for his senior season. With that, the team has gotten quality contributions across the board, not the least of which has come from senior Jarred Wagner who's seen his scoring average boost to just over 17 points per game this year.
