Poll: YAIAA girls' Athlete of the Week | Sept. 21-Sept. 27
Who are the top teams thus far in the YAIAA in the early portion of the 2015 fall sports season?
A handful of volleyball teams are duking it out at the top. At Central York, the Panthers are 5-0 overall and 5-0 in Division-I play as well following a big win over Red Lion last week. The Lions, for their part, are now 4-2 on the year and 4-1 in Division-I competition.
Staying on the volleyball court, Susquehannock and York Suburban continue to go strong as well. The Warriors are 6-1 on the year and 5-0 in YAIAA Division II while the Trojans sport a 6-0 season record and 5-0 mark in league.
And in Division III, two teams also hold undefeated records in league play - Delone Catholic (6-0, 5-0) and Hanover (6-2, 5-0). For Delone, it’s no surprise, as the Squirettes seek their fourth-straight league championship.

In YAIAA Division I field hockey there’s Dallastown, which holds a perfect 9-0 overall record and 6-0 standing in division play. There’s also Division II unbeaten Gettysburg (9-0, 5-0). Bermudian Springs leads the Division III ranks with a 6-1 overall record and a 4-0 standing against divisional opponents.
In the girls’ soccer ranks, Dallastown is atop the YAIAA Division I standings as well - a 7-1 overall record and a 6-0 mark in divisional play. The Wildcats are followed closely by Central York’s 6-1 record against Division I competition.
Susquehannock and it’s 5-0 record in Division II play holds a slight lead on 4-2 Gettysburg. And in Division III, It’s York Catholic sporting a 5-0 league record, followed by Fairfield and Delone Catholic, which each hold marks of 4-1.
York Suburban continues to be the gold standard in cross country, with an 11-0 overall record. Red Lion holds an 8-1 overall mark on the season.
And in girls’ tennis, Dallastown remains a premier program in the area, holding an 11-1 overall record and a first-place standing in Division I play with a 7-0 record.
