For starters, Central York and West York found themselves in a shootout of sorts, with the Panthers getting a last-minute touchdown from quarterback Nick Strine to wide receiver Sakai Barton. That play proved to be the difference in Central’s 31-28 win.

Red Lion surely had an emotional night on the football field. In the Lions’ first game since the tragic deaths of teammates Stone Hill and Nick Mankin, the team overcame a 20-14 deficit on the road to down Hershey 40-20.

At New Oxford, it was a night to remember. The Colonials, who hadn’t won a game since the 2013 season, pulled out a 24-21 victory on the road. Luis Partida made the game-winning field goal, a 27-yarder as time expired and the celebration started soon thereafter.

And the Dallastown Wildcats got a gutsy performance from senior quarterback Cade Gold in their 26-14 road win over Lancaster Catholic.
